Are you interested in playing a bigger role in pro-European campaigning? Could you help your local group to achieve, and win, a People's Vote on the terms of Brexit?
The growing prospect of a People's Vote means that local campaign groups in South West London are looking to train key activists who can help organise and lead events, and manage other volunteers. The more key activists we have, the more events we can run, the more voters we can reach, and the more we can free up the national campaign headquarters to focus on areas of the country that need more support than London. Being a key activist is also a very varied and satisfying way to spend your free time!
This session is suitable for anyone with some experience as a volunteer on political campaigns - whether for a pro-European group, a political party or on another issue. Our aim is to give you all the essential information on what's involved in local organising during a campaign, including running leafleting events, canvassing, street stalls and polling day operations. By the end of the session we hope you'll have the knowledge and confidence to start helping your local group organise events! We'll give you some pointers on how to get started on doing the kind of campaigning you want to do.
Afterwards we'll head to a nearby pub for an optional discussion on what the messaging for a future 'Remain' campaign could look like - and of course a couple of drinks.
This is a free session organised by experienced volunteers from local pro-European groups.
