This Sunday we'll be taking a short trip across the border into Wandsworth to deliver voter registration leaflets in a part of the Battersea constituency that has a lot of young voters living in house shares, and a high turnover of residents. Many new arrivals may not yet have registered to vote here, and we want to make sure they get a reminder to do so before the deadline of 26 November.
We are going to Battersea as this seat has the potential to be a fairly tight race. Labour MP Marsha de Cordova won this seat from the Tories in 2017 with a 2,400 majority. Marsha is the candidate endorsed both by People's Vote and Best for Britain's tactical voting sites, and she has pledged to campaign for Remain at a future referendum (https://www.remain-labour.co.uk/campaign-pledge-ge-2019) - but whether young voters choose Marsha or another candidate, we know they are overwhelmingly likely to want a pro-European MP. Please come and help us make sure they are registered to vote!
RSVP so we know how many leaflets to bring.
